Congratulations Tulane Graduates!!!

For the first time, I have understood what a painful movie is.  Dinner for Shmucks was so painful, I grew nauseous and stopped the movie twice.  The second time for good.  I cannot bear to watch another moment of the painful dialogue and insensitive humor.  Please, for your own sake, never watch this movie.

In Seattle it is “Cinco de My’o’My’ in tribute to Dave Niehaus. In New Orleans, it is the Superior Grill Block Party.  In support of both, I am watching Desperado in a sombrero and poncho, eating quesadillas, then heading to the block party without changing.  I expect a wonderful night.  Thank you Dave for making the Mariners the most unforgettable baseball team of my life.

I have been told that as you get older, breaking the law gets less and less enticing.  This might be true as I have seen my actions trending towards more culturally accepted methods and my taste becoming more and less conservative than before.  More because I am enjoying time-tested music more than in my youth while less because I listen to things now that probably will not have musical relevance for years.  I do not see myself as a music snob nor a connoisseur.  I have simply identified that I do not have the attention span to enjoy the same music day in and out (save for a few albums of nostalgic origins).  As such is the case, I now venture in and out of tracks I have been finding on Indie Music blogs.  Some signed, some unsigned, most mediocre, some stars.  This month, I have sorted through over 1400 tracks and want to start posting what I have loved and why.  I will link to the song but never host it myself.  I don’t care to get traffic, nor do I consider my self any sort of expert.  Just sharing the love.

This indie music blog offers some great stories, information, and of course links to music.  Not a main staple in my daily musical diet, it is a wonderful and simple supplement!

I have been collecting a lost of free indie music blogs and wanted to send this one out to Tumblr.  I have found a few New Orleans artists on this site already.  There is a list of available songs and links to MP3’s that go on for days.  Dig in.

Bill is using kickstarter to produce his Movie about some Tulane University School of Social Work students that went to see the Dalai Lama and teach English.  It is a great film that leaves you thinking and wanting to travel.  Help him out!
