Bring On the Rain

Today I woke up to one of the most comforting experiences I have seen in New Orleans. The city was saturated in a slow and steady rain, much like that of Seattle. Having witnessed, or been victimized, by the onslaught of a heavy downpour on the rare occassion, it is a welcome sight to see this. The puddles are ripe and the ground is moist.

While walking to the shuttle stop, I saw a slick of motor oil emenating from the sidewalk by the cupcake shop on Claiborn and was amazed at the kalediscopic display presented on the street. The slow churn of colors and display of greens, yellows, reds, pinks, and cyans got my mind working on the prismatic nature of our word.

The smells are rich and the jacket is out. Honk if you see a guy wearing orange!
