Finding My Place in NOLA
New Orleans is a beautiful city with amazing and considerate people. The only overlying complaint about the city is the seemingly generic distaste for change. While stubborn is a charcteristic too strong to a population, perhaps resistant can suffice. New Orleans acts like the bearer of forbidden fruit, promoting travelers to adopt a view of the city that is both very different than the city it self yet in the same spirit. In this spirit I finally found myself in a position of equalibrium. Perhaps developing enough connections and understanding the city’s streets and locales has helped ease the transition of returning. Another point of consideration is the final coming of independence. I found my feeling of comfort at Cafe Bamboo. An admittedly similar venue to a Seattle hole in the wall, it seemed foreign and yet like home. There, my friends and I saw The Russian Mafia Band and a burlesque show with @bellablue. Listening to the band drew upon my love for everchanging music appetite and the burlesque show catered to my insatiable search for new experiences. While I believe that these experiences do appear in life with more frequency when in Seattle, it was delightful to have felt a sense of belonging in an otherwise alien city. Geaux Saints!
